" Nonverbal messages are often send out through actions such as facial expression, gestures, sign language, posture and movement, physical contact, language (tone and pitch of voice) and many others. There's a saying to this, which is, "Actions speaks louder than words" This is an undeniable fact. People often express their feelings through facial expressions especially. Some facial expressions, however, are considered to have similar meanings internationally because they are associated with emotive responses that have evolved as a part of the genetic make-up of the human species. These expressions reflect the "universal emotions" of happiness, sadness, anger, suprise, fear and disgust. Other than that, clothing expectations, eyebrows, head nods, and body movements are generally observed in order to obtain the nonverbal meanings. Cultural diversity produces a whole range of non-verbal signs and their associations. Clothing expectations often accompany the notion of professionalism. Based on a research done by the Western, it has shown that medical patients expect their doctors to dress up formally in white jackets if they are in a hospital situation. It seems that patients would not place their trust on a doctor who dressed in jeans or casual attire, regardless the doctor's qualifications. Also, in the corporate settings, dress codes play a major role in their job performance and an employee who does not obey these codes would certainly obtain lower performance ratings compared to others, regardless of the quality of his/her work. As for eyebrows, they are very expressive when it comes to conveying emotions. There are four types of eyebrows expression. Fully-raised eyebrows indicate disbelief, half-raised eyebrows indicate suprises, half-lowered eyebrows indicate worry or puzzle, and fully-lowered eyebrows indicate anger. Besides, giving an affirmative head nods when one is listening tends to be a sign of empathy, respect and understanding. Gentle nods also assure that one is an attentive listener. Moreover, body movements and gestures that are commonly seen as blocking the flow of communication which includes four types of actions. Firstly, by keeping arms crossed indicate a defensive attitude. Secondly, putting arms to hips indicate aggression. Thirdly, standing with a slight backward bend indicate suprise or aloofness. Last but not least, putting one's hand on one's chin while one's eyes wander around the place indicate boredom. These nonverbal actions are often done by human beings in their everyday life either intentionally or unintentionally. Each of these nonverbal actions are unique and it is defined in its own way. "
